Hey there. I'm Laura.
I'm a UX and Market Researcher with over 10 years of experience in hands-on research and UX program management across academic, nonprofit and corporate settings.
About Me
For over a decade, I have been using customer research to answer crucial business questions and make strategic product, UX and commercial decisions.
I have conducted dozens of end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research projects in Fortune 50 and startup companies and stood up successful research and testing programs while educating teammates and colleagues on the power of research and creating revenue-driving tech solutions. My consumer and user research has spanned customer interviews, surveys, shop-alongs, AB and multivariate testing, focus groups, usability testing and ethnography.

I was first exposed to the research world while working at a nonprofit research center early in my career. I saw their research drastically change lives and childhood outcomes and learned the essentials of research design. As I managed development and redesign of the center's client portal, I intuitively (and not so coincidentally) started to use UX research methods to make design decisions.

My understanding of and respect for UX research deepened as I formally studied technology interaction and communication in grad school, where I ran multiple usability studies and conducted my own research on technology usage across the lifespan. I was formally trained in qualitative research methods as a Research Assistant and Woodruff Research Fellow, focusing on grounded theory and thematic coding.

Since those first days, I've gained experience across research types, company sizes and in e-commerce and brick and mortar experiences. My goal is always to ask the right questions and provide practical, strategic recommendations.

TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Take a look at how I've used user research and online experimentation to manage and develop revenue-driving digital products. Here's my portfolio.
My personal research interests are the psycho-social impacts of communication on technology usage and anti-science conspiracy theories. Be the next person to give them a browse.
Some of my peak career moments are what I've accomplished in standing up and managing UX research programs. I've compiled some of my own case studies and ethos. Check it out.
I managed social impact communications for The UPS Foundation, developing materials sent to more than 150k employees. My crowning achievement? The yearly social impact report.
